Disability Justice staff enjoyed a day of workplace fun and education with our first annual Bring Your Child to Work Day

April 29, 2016

Bring your child to work

Disability Justice had its first annual Take Your Child to Work Day on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. More than 30 children between the ages of 5 and 14 years enjoyed the day’s activities and were welcomed into the Disability Justice family.

The day began with a meet and greet breakfast where Managing Partner Sam Pond welcomed our little guests.

“Your moms and dads are heroes because every day, they take care of you and people who are sick,” Sam said. “Thank you for sharing your moms and dads with us every day.”

Each child was asked to introduce themselves and explain what they think their parents do.

“They work and make money for their kids,” said one child.

“They help people,” said another.

The children were treated to a personalized office tour and shadowed their parents over the course of a typical work day. At lunch, everyone enjoyed bingo, face painting and balloon animals before a pizza party. The Executive Team explained how everyone’s job at Disability Justice helps in the overall success of the organization. The day rounded out with a group photo and making picture frames to commemorate the special day.
